the mother of all business rules is 'customers first' kan? or is it customers second? third? 4th?
i had a few bad experience dealing with so called established companies in this land. btw, credit to abg mi who inspires me to write about this experience...
Experience 1
this land is recognized as a developed nation with modern technology and has a very firm stand against discrimination. ok, i'm totally fine with that as i always believe that no one should discriminates and be discriminated. HOWEVER... (lets the story begins)
1 - i went to a well known telecommunication company asking about mobile network and ip4 contract. oh, in this foreign land, almost everything is contracted. based on the explanation by a person behind the counters, he said... "our company offers the best network with broad coverage and minimum payment, bla bla bla....." ok, i'm interested. after comparing with other companies, i decided to proceed with the flat rate + ip4 package. dealed and signed! after few minutes, the person gave me an envelope which consists a simcard and few pieces of papers (contract + t&c of the package) then he asked me to come after few days because they didn't any ip4 during that time and there would not be any delivery because of the long christmas and new year break. i said ok.
2 - after few days, i went to the store and asked about the ip4, the person told me i came few minutes too late because they just gave the last ip4 to another customer. what? u asked me to come but there's nothing for me? it was cold ok in december/january. tapi takpelah, berbekalan sifat ketimuran dan kesabaran, i was still ok with that. the person asked me to come again in few days... then i left the kedai with semangat berkobar-kobar...
3 - after few days, i was there again... the person said he had prepared everything and reserved one ip4. great! i thought that was the time when i could berlagak dengan family and kawan2. the person asked me to sign few documents and i need to wait for 15 to 20 minutes for online approval. since zara and peek & cloppenberg are just next to the kedai and the sales was like there's no tommorow, i said to the mamat i'll go to jalan2 n ushar few things first... bla, bla, bla... after 15 minutes, i went to the kedai again n the person wasn't there anymore. i waited for another 15 minutes and yet no sign of that person. i asked lah the person's colleague and... i'm super in shocked knowing that the bloody mamat dah balik! boleh tak? the mamat's colleague told me that my application wasn't approved that's why that bloody mamat balik. what the fish! at least tell me lah kan before you go home. i asked that mamat's colleague, how to about this matter? that guy told me to come tomorrow and asked the mamat. ok... i left the kedai with semangat yang berkibar-kibar...
4 - i met the mamat, i asked him why he left without telling me anything, he said his shift dah habis, so dia balik lah... what the fish (once more dalam hati) then he told me that he didn't have any idea why my ip4 application was rejected but the network is ok! i said do something lah. he said no because everything is this magical land must not involved 3rd person. ok, respect that as well. then, i asked him were there any contact numbers or e-mail add which i could contacted to get some clarification why ip4 was rejected tp network line okeh plak. he said no! he only had the mailing address, i need to write in n send letter... hah? punya lah moden, still kena hantar surat ke? maybe they don't have 'no wrong door policy'?
5 - few days after that, i went to another kedai company yang sama, aku tanya logik ke kalau network line approved tp ip4 tak approved? mamat kat kedai lain ni cakap, no way that would had happened melainkan mamat yang buat aku pny ctt tu nk sebat that ip4. no! no! no! i'm so not allowed that thing happened to me.. i went to the kedai again tp still jawapan sama, u kena tulis surat katanya... hey! did u know that we have e-mail nowdays? itu my last statementto that guy... balik rumah, aku dengan gigihnya surfed the company's website and every single word in the website is dalam bahasa dia. so, dengan gamble nya aku send my inquiry to one of the contact links dalam website tu. harap2 someone will read my inquiry... now my semangat no longer berkobar-kobar but more to terbakar-bakar.
6 - after one week ye kawan2, finally i received one e-mail from the company saying that my application was rejected due to internal business policy. hah? what is so internal sampai u couldn't explain it to me? still bersabar tp senipis tisu je.
7 - tak puas hati dengan explanation tu, i sent one more e-mail to another contact found in the website. kali ni, i wrote something like this lah... "i need a firm justification bla bla bla..." after 6 days they replied... "the company needs your info for the rechecking bla... bla.. bla... n must send it within 4 days" apa benda ni? korang amik more than 5 days to respond to my inquiry, now u asked me to submit everything within 4 days? banyak cantik! i replied that i'm not giving anymore documents n info because everything was there at the kedai... and i asked the company is it because of i'm a foreigner? AND... after few minutes, not even days, i received one e-mail saying that my application was approved! and i may collect the ip4 at the kedai... KAAANNNNNN!
8 - i thought i already won the 'war' but i still need to wait more than one hour at the kedai because the mamat told me that he needed to wait for online approval from the company. hahaha... ini mmg kelakar sebab ikut e-mel, semua dah settle tp that mamat suruh aku tunggu jugak. aku mmg panas dah masa ni. learning from the best practise, i've printed the e-mail sent by the company to me. then..... barulah mamat tu bagi that stupid ip4.
after few visit to the kedai and few e-mails, barulah aku dapat benda ni. 'friendly' tak tempat ni? morale of the story, it is not that i'm chasing for the ip4, i have a bb what? *kerek gila aku* tp it is all about fighting for your rights in this land. it is like living in the jungle, you eat or be eaten!

thats life abroad. kena adapt lah dengan cara diaorg. :) get the language, then u can get things goin on much faster. and buat2 lah baik ngan budak2 student sorang dua.. :P
p/s : ko belum kena lagi kerenah nak bayar bil internet kat service center kat negara arab. lagi haru!
kesian but that is life sometimes its really unfair, but hey u showed them how stubborn u can be :) way to go !

che, genau! exactly! living abroad is not as 'sejahtera mengumpul duit' as people thinks kan? isn't easy at all. blending in the culture la, bahasa la, style la... everything. mesia jugak terbaek! mesia boleh!

serius ker?kat sini takde masalah la pulak..is it t ke o?agaknya depends pada kedai kot..atau is it because hessen area..tapi kat sini birokrasi lagi teruk dr kat mesia..cam hampas.. nak pergi klinik pun kena buat appoinment sampai sakit nak baik dah..
perfect ! vangga dgn u. so now u dah pandai print email sbg bukti heheheh ... but yg bernilai adalah masa kita bukannya apa. kan? huh mine lg teruk ke? sbb melibatkan 2 objek? hahahah
Nasib baik kat sini tak banyak sangat problem nak dapatkan iphone4 tu. Lepas sain contract for 2 years, bla bla bla then, terus ajer dapat phone tu. Tak lebih dari 2 jam, everything settle.... Yang tak tahannya, kejap2 sms masuk. bahasa France pulak tu...
